Ok lol, it's been a super long time since I touched my blog...

kinda due to the exams, no mood, nothing much to talk about, etc..

Anyways, it's the last week of the holidays already.. like wtf, so fast :(
Spent the first week of my holidays away on vacation on the Royal Caribbean : Legend of The Seas cruise
Wasted my second week away rotting at home due to food poisoning and diarrhea... effed up
And finally, after fully recovering from it yesterday (a week of diarrhea, that's f*cked up), I lost about 3kg... just by rotting at home and not eating much due to loss of appetite.. I duno whether I should be happy or sad.. lol

I then went to play soccer yesterday and it felt so good, to finally release all those toxins built up in my body over the past two weeks, where I have not been exercising, especially the second week where I rotted at home doing nothing.

Okay, time to blog about the trip I had on board the Royal Caribbean.

Here is an overview:

It was a pretty decent luxury cruise liner - decent food, decent ambiance, decent services, etc... Those were the bits that made me enjoy the stay.

Some things that didn't make me enjoy my stay were its facilities, like the swimming pool - it was so small, it could barely allow you any space to swim, let alone accommodate several people.. The arcade was a joke too, it was around the size of my room - For those who have been to my room, you should know how small that is for an arcade right... it only had a guitar hero machine, 2-4 racing car machines, and some toy-catching machines.. that's all I'm serious..

Other things I didn't like either were its under-18 curfew policy. Bloody hell, they had this curfew for anyone under 18 before 1am.. Seriously, I think the ship crew should revise this scheme to below 13, or at most below 16... what the hell man, they're taking precautions way too seriously, people below 18 practically have no freedom after 1am..

For example, my cousin and I may be hungry after 1am, and we want to get some supper, but because of the curfew, we can't ... wtf right, I think anyone above 16 should be old enough to take care of him or herself la, why must be 18 and above.. I seriously wanna complain about that policy they have.

But luckily, me and my cousin looked 18 :P , so we kinda cheated our way through the curfew staff many times, who were patrolling around the decks after 1am.. we almost got caught, just once.. when this China staff walked past us and asked us to stop, and gave us the guai lan smile, asking if we're 18 already or not.. of course, we weren't so stupid to tell the truth, so we lied, saying we just turned 18.. he could've asked us to show him our SeaPass cards (everyone was issued one, sorta like a personal identification card to be used as a cardkey and for other various uses on board), but he didn't, we then walked off with a huge sigh of relief.

After that, I told my sis about the incident and she said " Haha, I think you tell them you 21 they also believe lor " ... HAHAHA, I kinda agreed with her, because I followed them into the casino and played da-xiao with them without any of the staff questioning me.. we won 120 USD on the first night, partially thanks to me. But then they lost it all on the second night... F*ck man seriously -.- luck wasn't on their side...

But the ship had many live shows and events that assured your stay wouldn't be a boring one. It had magic shows, movie screenings, acrobatics, singing sessions... and many more... they had activities throughout the whole day, for each and every day. We played Bingo too, read more to find out.

Basically, that was an overview of the experiences I had on board, now time to go into the details

Day 1 - Assimilation
Did some last minute packing in the morning before setting off for Harbourfront Ferry Terminal at around noon. Took a cab and reached there around 12+ p.m , then settled the immigration and customs stuff, and went on board the ship. We'd gotten balcony rooms, decent view & scenery, the breeze felt kinda nice when the ship started sailing.

This is an example of the list of activities that were available everyday, it was never boring to be on that ship. And look at the bottom right of the list, that's the bloody curfew I'm talking about...fucked up man, referring to us as ' Junior ' cruisers. Go to hell seriously (click to enlarge)

And this was the Bingo I was talking about, haha. Get 5 holes punched, horizontally,vertically or diagonally, and you win (unfortunately, we didn't, as you can see...) Each ticket costed us 16 USD(that's the currency they use on the ship) ...and there were at least a hundred people playing as well, which meant they'd made at least $1600 each time there was a Bingo session. Profitable I guess ..

Nightfall was soon approaching and we had to head for dinner soon. Along the way to the restaurant, we strolled down the corridors of the ship and enjoyed the sunset and the soothing breeze that caressed our faces .

My main course, pasta . It was horribly tasteless. This was the only dish I complained about. The following nights' dishes were much better.

After the dinner, we headed to the upper decks to stroll around to digest our food and enjoy the breeze. The swimming pool was there, and I managed to take a photo. Take a look for yourself how small it is..

Went back to our room afterwards to rest for awhile, before my cousin and I 'loitered' (because we're under 18 -.-) around for supper later.
That was pretty much what happened on Day 1

Day 2 - Port Klang, Malaysia
We had to wake up early because the ship docked at Port Klang, at the Northern part of Malaysia, for Malaysians to get on board. We wanted to take the opportunity to get on land, so we got down considerably early, around 11am, and then took a cab to town for lunch. We tried out this famous Bak Kut Teh stall that the taxi driver recommended us. It was about a half-hour drive to town and we alighted at a shopping mall.

Their Bak Kut Teh was very unique. Very different from Singapore's one. Their's was more of a broth rather than soup, it was slightly thicker than soup. Typing this is making me hungry now, lol

We had to get back on the ship by 4p.m, so we had plenty of time to do some shopping first. I wanted to buy a pair of skinnies but they didn't have my size. Sad :(
There was a Daiso mart there too, and everything there was sold for 5RM. I don't know if they were having a clearance sale or what, but literally EVERYTHING was sold for 5RM.. wow, haha
I bought a pair of table tennis rackets and a long grab-stick that helps you grab things that are not within your reach. Forgot to take picture, but you can roughly imagine what I'm trying to illustrate.

Malaysian products are super cheap man. I went to Popular later to buy a deck of cards for only 2RM, and it was of good quality. Smooth and polished surface, not those super cheap quality ones. Awesome shit man. We then got a cab back to the port again to return back on board the ship.

We then returned to our rooms to slack and wait for dinner. I took out my laptop to play Pokemon at first (LOL) , because there was no wifi, duh .. You had to pay like 30 USD for the wifi .. total rip-off.. but then my cousin's dad got us the Maxis broadband internet card, so we could go online while we were still in Malaysia. (Thailand was the next destination)
Unfortunately, we could only stay connected to the signal for about an hour before it grew weaker and weaker, and then finally stopping, presumably cause we were leaving Malaysia's satellite range and entering Thailand's one.

I can't believed I was actually engrossed in playing Pokemon, LOL. I played on until 7+ p.m, and took a nap until it was time for dinner.

After dinner, we headed for some acrobatics show. It was okay, a guy and a girl doing acrobatics on a suspended hula hoop. Again, no pics =\
Argghhh regret not taking more pics, because without the pics, I can't remember in detail what I did there -.-
Anyway, my sisters and I went into the casino after watching the acrobatics. The da-xiao table caught our eye, or rather - their eye. So I just sat with them and watched them play. We started with $200 USD and left with $320 USD. So we split the winnings among us, meaning each of us won $40 .. but they had to lose it all the following night.. -.- as mentioned earlier ..

Can't remember what I did after leaving the casino. If I'm not wrong, we went drinking, yes. Baileys and peanuts to accompany an exit from the casino was great.
We then went back to our room to rest for awhile before my cousin, his Primary 3 brother and I, would head out to the upper decks to play table tennis with the table tennis rackets I bought, lol. And it was nearing 1am, and the staff told us to ALL to go back to our rooms. I'm guessing he assumed we were under 18 too.

And I was right, because when we brought him back to the room and came out again, we encountered the same staff who asked us to go back previously.. He then stopped and asked us if we're 18, with the guai lan smile. I mentioned this earlier already.

We then headed for the arcade to play guitar hero lol as we had nothing to do. We were not bad, considering it was the first time we had touched GH since ages. Haha. We ended off the night with supper before heading back to our rooms for a good night's rest.

Day 3 - Phuket Thailand
Could afford to wake up slightly later for this day because we had until 9p.m to venture onto Phuket, Thailand. The passengers on board were given tender* tickets so that our departure onto Phuket would be less messy and more organised. *Tender refers to smaller boats to ferry passengers in and out of the main ship*.

We were told to assemble in the lounge.

We took a tuk-tuk , the traditional form of taxi in Thailand, and made our way to the main shopping district further in land. We settled down in an air-conditioned shopping mall to our relief, cause it was so frikking hot that time. It was around 3p.m, when the sun was at its hottest. Only my cousin and I went shopping, the rest especially the girls, were attracted by massage shops all over the mall. Traditional Thai massage, it can't get any better than that.

I didn't want to join them because honestly, I felt that shopping was more worth it because we don't get to go to Thailand so often, and partly because we're guys too.. we don't crave for massages. So my cousin and I went around shopping for clothes that were not available in Singapore. I bought a football jersey(fake of course) for myself, and another for my friend(I'm such a nice person :) at $18 SGD each. Althought it's fake, but the quality was surprisingly good, and it looked very original. The Thais know sure know to produce imitation goods.

Then bought 5 more guai-lan tees, like the ones I bought in Bangkok back in 2009 when I went there on a competition with the Maris Alumni Wind Ensemble. Such shirts are definitely not available in SG, that's why it was definitely more worth it to shop rather than have a massage there.. even though the massage rates there were super cheap .. at like $20 SGD per hour
In SG, it's like $50 per hour AT LEAST .

We came across this shop that specialised in metal art & craft. It was so damn bloody cool !

It was soon getting late and we had dinner at the mall itself, before getting a ride on a tuk-tuk again back to the bay to get back on board the ship.

Went back to our rooms and slacked after a tiring day. I was feeling quite sea-sick on this day, perhaps cause I was tired. I went to the arcade later with my cousin to play GH again, and I could barely concentrate cause I was quite nauseous. We quickly played through one or two songs and went back to our rooms to have some proper rest. No supper that night as I was feeling nauseous, lol.

Day 4 - Full day on board
This was our last day to spend time on the ship and just unwind, enjoy the activities, chill out, and basically cherish the last day on the ship. I explored any remaining areas of the ship I haven't explored yet, while my cousin took the opportunity to go rock climbing (yes, there's a rock climbing wall on the ship), but it was the noob wall la. Nothing compared to OBC rock wall or any school's rock wall.
Spent the last dinner with a bang. It was our farewell dinner, and we had to part with our personal waiters for the 4 nights who have been serving us with genuine interest. Our waiter was called Mario, he's a Pinoy, friendly guy he was. The other was a Chinese female whom we expressed gratitude towards as well.

Afterwards, the whole staff roster gathered to sing us Christmas songs. It was a heartwarming experience and it felt abit sad to part with Mario and the ship itself.

That was the final night of the cruise vacation and I went back to the room and started packing my luggage to return home the following day.

Day 5 - Home sweet home!
Had to wake up damn early, like 6 or 7 + cause the ship returned back to Habourfront Ferry Terminal at around 8am. We then had breakfast at the terminal and cabbed home, only to relish the memories of that 5-day cruise trip. But nevertheless, home sweet home!

haha alright... finally managed to touch my blog after a damn long self-imposed blog break .. I know I'm a bad owner... oh well ~.~ ... wanna use the holidays to slack as much as possible, that includes ignoring my blogging responsibilities, lol

haiz, totally demoralized by my Semester 1 GPA ... totally never study at all, everyday go home slack and play likaboss ~.~ , end up gpa like shit ... I duwan say here, cos it's really damn shit ...

I'm hoping Sem 2 will be a different story.. like seriously.. I alrdy give myself a target, if I don't get above 3.0 GPA for Sem 2, I'm gonna try out other courses or maybe even consider JC ..

I know it'd be crazy for me to go JC .. but it's counter-intuitive .. many people say JC is much more hardcore than Poly.. well I agree, but there's actually a twist ..

in JC, the exams are like Pri/Sec school type.. means the exams the school gives you doesn't affect your future.. it only affects your conduct report and report card.. but it doesn't affect the main exam which you're sitting for, PSLE/O/A'levels .. this means even though you fail some subjects here n there in JC, you still got time to catch up until A'levels arrive.

whereas in Poly.. it's different.. even though it's 'slackier' and more spread out, i.e - 3 years instead of 2 years , the exams are based on every semester.. meaning that you cannot afford to slack for each semester.. you have to be super consistent, more consistent than a JC student for that matter ..
failing to be consistent will have consequences that I'm facing now.. I failed my oh-so-beloved organic chem module which I have been complaining about in previous posts... which means it's not much of a surprise.. -.-

With such a crappy gpa for my Sem 1, being able to admit into a local Uni is gonna be tougher on my shoulders now. For a Poly grad to be admitted into a local Uni is already hard enough, and I just fucked it up even more ..

I seriously don't know whether I can still make it or not. I wonder how much will this crappy gpa affect my cumulative gpa over the next 2 years.
I seriously regret now... very very very heavily regret ...

bcos of that failed module, I can't take certain modules with my class now and have to study the failed module with another class, which means I'll most probably have to graduate half a year later than my classmates.

It's like wtf la. A total sucker punch right to my face. Having to repeat the module is already bad enough, yet they still want to drag on my Poly life for another half a sem.
Haiz ... had I known Poly life was not gonna be that easy, I would've had contemplated more on going into a JC instead... as I feel it suits my style better, as a slow learner =[

What to do sia. Life must go on ... shouldn't regret anymore, should just move on and don't repeat the same mistake again. One week of holidays left, I'm hoping I start Semester 2 with a brighter, more confident, more ready side of me.

I wish all of you reading this to not be like me and let your guard down on anything. I made the mistake of underestimating the consequences of not doing well. And here I am, lagging behind my class just bcos of one module failure. Haiz , bye ~

okay .. this week was a pretty screwed week...

lots of unfortunate things happened, not just to me, but to others as well ..

first of all, on Wednesday, we had Organic Chem practical ..
I was supposed to use the dropper to drop a few drops of substance A into a test tube filled with 1ml of substance B ..

then I didn't know the freaking liquid was so fluid that when I gently dropped a few drops of A into B, all the substance B just splashed all over the inner walls of the test tube.. and some of it went into the dropper

and when I saw some of substance B in the dropper, I thought it wouldn't make any difference cause it was so minor and I thought it had already been in the dropper before I used it..

then afterwards, a few more groups came to do the same experiment which we were doing, and they noticed the contamination I introduced from substance B to A ..
then the teacher subtracted 30% of our total marks for that practical ..

the teacher's kind of a bitch as well, totally not an understanding person at all ..
it was purely accidental and unintentional, yet she comes down so harshly on me and my partner, to the extent of subtracting 30% of the whole experiment marks. WTF man, how was I supposed to know it would splash into the dropper?

and she claims that she subtracted our marks not only because of that incident, but because of previous incidents, e.g - me and my partner were always too slow, I broke a test tube in the previous experiment.. (that's all I can remember) ..yet she makes it seem like it's totally our fault..

other groups finish so fast because they copy the answers from other groups while my partner and I finish all the experiments with integrity.
and it's not as if I'd wanted to break the test tube on purpose right.. wtf, only retards with nothing better to do will do that.. ok, blame it that I was being clumsy la.. but if she keeps on telling us that we're too slow, it means she's rushing us.. and when she's rushing us, we're bound to be more clumsy .. so is it totally our fault?

and sadly, both my partner and I are weak in that module, so instead of coming down so hard on us, she should have been more understanding and lenient instead... we were the only group who did all the experiments with genuine integrity, with hard work. Yet she doesn't acknowledge that, summore she minus marks.. so what is this? She trying to say that bosses like to hire employees who can make as little accidents(WHICH CAN'T BE HELPED IN THE FIRST PLACE)as possible, rather than a hardworking employee with integrity?

come on man, we were clumsy yes, put purely accidental, but we had integrity to do all the experiments ourselves and didn't copy other people's work. But did we get what we deserved? No ... summore get 30% subtraction.. f*ck my lecturer la, seriously.. minus 30% just because of some small accidents.. not like I make the whole lab explode or something.. she know I weak in her module that's why purposely bias against me lor.. fcking bitch sia

and I've been feeling fatigue and stress taking over me lately.. more and more pimples appearing on my face.. adding insult to injury seriously.. already got skin condition, still giving me stress pimples.. fuck man

recently gotten a cold too, I'm having a cold still, as I'm typing this post.. -.-
could've been due to fatigue :\

bleh, exam in 2 weeks.. fck man, if I fail my Organic Chem module, my lecturer happy liao lor.. mission accomplished right, want to tear me down so badly.. fcking bitch
crap la, I'm not expecting my complexion or mood to get any better these few weeks to come .. study study study.. Poly is so different from Sec/JC life la.. Poly have to do well for every exam leh.. then can get good GPA .. Sec/JC can just wait until one or two weeks then start to mug .. Poly if u resort to last minute mugging, can forget about going Uni alrdy..

that's why I think ppl who go to Poly work harder than JC kids, but have an easier life in Uni .. seriously, I feel that way .. even though everybody else says JC life is definitely tougher.. whatever, I beg to differ.. seriously

26/50 .. kinda expected a borderline pass.. so I can say I'm contended :)

although passing is definitely not enough to get a 3.9 gpa ...
need to work harder for CA1 !

Presentation night

went to watch Maris Stella Symphonic Band perform for the presentation night at Esplanade yesterday. In view of the recent SYF, bands which achieved the gold-with-honours award were given the opportunity to perform there to showcase their talents and prove their standard as a gold-with-honours band. Maris Stella, St.Patricks, St.Andrew and Ang Mo Kio were the secondary schools which performed. ACJC was the only JC which performed. Tiring day yesterday

Yay Maris alumni band practice has started, but practices are now on Sundays instead of the usual Saturdays.. I'm used to slacking at home and not doing anything on Sundays... it's weird that I have to go to school on Sundays now .. but it's alright. At least I enjoy what I'm doing it for :)

Currently practising for a concert on August the 30th. If ya'll got time, pls come and support thx :) hehe
Some of the songs are really nice to listen to, and for me, enjoyable to perform :)

Ok, band stuff aside.. I've gotten back three papers already -
Dip plus , Inorg & Org chem & Microbiology
Just passed my Dip Plus (phew... but kinda disappointed that all my classmates did so much better than me when I have tuition for it and they don't... ._. feel like a total failure)

Flunked my Inorg & Org chem ... 2nd last in class :(

Did fairly well for Microbio though :) 77%

I fucking need help for Organic Chem ... after studying all the subjects, I finally realise my biggest problem now is Organic Chem, instead of the others, which I thought had been. Totally don't understand anything about Cyclocompounds and IUPAC nomenclatures .. zzz ..

Bio and IO Chem + Dip Plus

Bio yesterday was pretty ok.
Confident of passing, just not sure whether will it be a good pass or a borderline pass. Oh well, right now I just want to pass all my modules... cause it's the foundation modules, I must master them no matter what.

Took my Inorganic and Organic Chemistry paper today . Fucked it up real bad, I think it's the only one I fucked up so far. But at least other people said it was hard too, so I don't feel so left out :]
Took my Dip Plus paper afterwards in the noon. Kinda fucked it up as well, but ... Dip plus. is an expected-to-fail subject.. it's like A Maths when you were first introduced to it. Only gifted people could ace it on the first try, and of course I'm not one of them ...

tomorrow's the last paper. Intro to Chem Eng. Kinda easy subject (hope the paper's easy as well :| )
sigh~ I hope I only fail Org & Inorg Chem and Dip Plus for this exams. Don't want my parents to nag at me so much, when it's just my first year... the tests and exams are gonna get harder and harder. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I don't fail any modules at the end of the year cause I don't wanna repeat any module next year..
It'll only add on to the stress I'm already facing .. And of course, parents will nag at me even more ... double kill -.-

first day of MST

hmm today was a hell of a tiring day .. considering I had two papers to take and I only slept for one hour yesterday night.. couldn't adjust my body clock back in time..

but I managed to survive though.. and both papers were manageable (luckily) ..
but I just pray that I can pass, because I left out some heavy-marks question, but overall I managed to do at least 75% of both papers .

there was this super bitchy Linear Law question for my Engineering Maths paper.
try manipulating y = (x-b)/(x+a) into a linear equation ... and that question alone was 16 marks.. plus another 14 marks question which I suddenly forgot how to do ... and some careless mistakes here n there .. I'd probably get a 60+/100 if nothing else goes wrong..

right. Tomorrow's Bio paper. Kinda like that subject, ok bye. Good luck to those taking mid-years now as well .

I have nothing much to blog about ..
One week of the holidays have just passed
Two weeks of holidays now remain

Met up with some of my Sec4 classmates last week and it made me miss my Secondary School life even more :(
I seriously hate the feeling of missing something.
Even though I wasn't so close to my classmates, I still miss them, for going through Sec3 and Sec4 together as a class.
All the randomness, all the epicness, all the laughter and joy we shared in class, all the trouble we got into, all the times we spent studying together for O's, etc.. Ahhhhh T.T I wish 2010 could repeat itself! :(

All those sudden flashbacks are making me moody nowadays :(
and I fucking hate the new topics that are being introduced for my course. Remember the time when you had just begun your Secondary school life, and algebra was the first thing they introduced to you. It was completely alien to you, but you had no choice, you still had to learn it by hard as it was a foundation topic.

I feel exactly the same way right now. The only modules in which I think I can cope with are Microbiology, Engineering Maths and Organic Chem as these were my strong topics in Sec4 (although I didn't take Bio lol). The others are like making me feel that 'Sec1' feeling again ... I fucking hate it

The reason why I loved Sec4 so much more than from Sec 1 to Sec 3, was because I only had to study for O'levels .. especially during the period where every subject had beem taught finish by the teachers and we only had to do revision, no more lessons left to take, so I could do all my revision papers, read all my textbooks and revision notes in peace. I had a certain aim when I was studying, I knew what I was studying for, I knew that after studying, it would help me do well for O'levels, therefore I could get myself motivated to study.

But right now, I'm back to that Sec 1 feeling again, where I'm so insecure, I don't know what I'm studying for, I didn't grasp what the teacher was trying to say in her lectures, or maybe I'm just a slow learner. Because of that, I don't have the mood to study at all, cause I just freaking won't understand what I'm studying...just like in Sec 1 again !

And then I won't be able to study in peace, cause I'm not sure of how tough the future topics will be. Will I be able to cope, or will I just crumble under additional stress. Fuck it, all these insecurities are driving me mad right now. God, please give me the motivation to study please! T-T get rid of all my insecurities!!! I want to get a good GPA...
Even when I'm taking a hot bath, or lying down in bed listening to music, all these thoughts will come into mind. I can't just sit down for a moment without encountering these troubled thoughts... I really can't ...

Sigh, and I miss being able to talk to someone every day. Back in my Sec4 days, I could sms someone everyday to chat about our daily lives, happenings and so on.. I could share all my thoughts with her. Even though she made me sad quite a number of times, she still provided me with a listening ear. We haven't been talking recently, but we're still friends.. but those days when she was more than a friend to me, will never be forgotten :(

2010 has been such an eventful year for me, not just because of O'levels, but because of all the things that happened in it.
I guess I cherished 2010 all the more as it was going to be my last year as Marist,(FYI - I've been a Marist for 10 years) and the last time I could ever see my classmates :(

sigh... I miss so many things about Maris and those 10 years that I spent there that I just can't name them all... =(
All I can hope for now is that I will get over those wonderful memories as a Marist and concentrate on my 3 years as an SP student.
Other than that, I think it's all part of growing up =|

Okay,the holidays are finally here .. a much needed break from the Poly term :\

gah,I've been late quite many times already and my teacher said if I continue being late, a warning letter might be issued to my parents ... screw it

Now that I have to wake up 2 hours before the start of every lesson, I cherish my Secondary school days even more. Now I have to take and MRT from Kovan/Serangoon all the way to Outram Park, then change line and have to take a few more stations until I reach SP. Back in my Secondary school days, all I needed to do was to just take a 5min bus ride to Serangoon station, then take the circle line to Bartley, which was just one station away ..

Secondary school lessons started at 7.40 everyday and I could wake up at 6.40 and still be on time.
Now, even when my lessons in SP start at 8, I still have to wake up earlier, at 6 .
And I have to leave my house by 7, if not I'll be late.

In my Secondary school days, if I left my house at 7, I would take my own sweet time and stroll to the bus stop and maybe get a cup of coffee along the way...
but now, leaving at 7 is the latest I can leave, even when lessons start later now.

Could be that I'm not used to it... cause I've been a Marist for 10 years ... therefore I'm so used to travelling less than 30mins per trip to or fro. Now I have to take at least one hour per trip. Grrr, so sad :[

Screw this, I can't wait for the fucking circle line to be complete, by then there would be Buona Vista station, which is just one stop away from my school. I could then take a bus to Sgoon every morning and just take circle line directly to Buona Vista and take the Green line one stop to my school.

Or I could just convince my parents to rent a place near SP .. that would be the best of both worlds :D
Easy for me to travel to school everyday, don't need to wake up so early , don't need to panic about how much time I have left when I wake up , don't need to worry about transport fees..
oh yeah, that would be great ^^

If only it were that easy ... o.o sigh~
I hope I can use this short 3-week holiday to catch up with my studies ,which are seriously lacking behind. LOL
And of course, catch up with my Marist friends, god... miss them like hell :(

Hopefully, I can settle down and convince my parents during this period of time to make the next 3 years of my life as an SP student more fruitful and enjoyable.

JC soccer A'div finals

Yesterday was the JC A'division soccer finals

It was held at Jalan Besar stadium with the girls' final from 3-5p.m and the men's final following from 6-8p.m

Not showing prejudice or bias,but almost everyone turned up mainly for the men's final as it normally proves to be more exciting than the girls' event.

The girls' final was held between SAJC and VJC , which ended VJC 3-1 SAJC
MJC and RJC got 3rd and 4th respectively (I think)

Soon after,the men's final started, and everyone was cheering and applauding loudly as the two awaited,and anticipated finalists, MJ and VJ, marched onto the pitch in glory.

The match started by MJ having more possession of the ball and having better chances, it took them around 20minutes to score a goal ; a result of a counter attack.

The first half ended with MJ having the edge over VJ.

The second half was a completely different story, with only few seconds of the whistle, the MJ goalkeeper fouled the VJ striker and was instantly sent off, MJ were then down to ten men. From then on, VJ completely dominated the entire second half ..but unfortunately, lack of communication and lacklustre passing allowed MJ to regain possession most of the time.

VJ did score a goal, but was disallowed by the referee for offside. Son of a b*tch referee.

P.S - I supported VJ cause I didn't want MJ to win it for the fifth time in row.. -.-

And truth be told,they totally deserved to win it yesterday .. just that lady luck wasn't by their side :(

Anyway,the atmosphere was great, but unfortunately, me and my friend were sitting at the MJ supporter's side,instead of the VJ side.. so it was quite awkward to be cheering for VJ at the opponent supporter's area. LMAO

Other than that, regardless of the result, VJ deserved to be true winners after their performance and the match proved to be an exciting showcase of MJ and VJ's ongoing rivalry.

I'll be back to watch next year's final again! :)

Poly life .

Gah ..I think my Poly life is as good as JC life,or even worse .. in terms of the timetable.

I let my JC friend look at my timetable and he claimed that his timetable is not as hectic as mine

Almost all my lessons are in the morning except Wednesdays on alternate weeks,where there's only one lesson from 1-3 ,following cca from 5-7

So screw it. Especially due to the fact that I have to spend 1hour on travelling everyday, excluding coming back, which would be another 1hour of course. So freaking tiring .

and screw it,I don't know why I'm not in the studying mood yet. It's already been a month since lessons started and I don't feel motivated to start studying. I'm kinda worried now,cos my mid-semestral test comes right after the June hols.

I don't know if I can find a personal tutor, cos I think I seriously need one. I can't absorb what the teacher is teaching..always falling asleep during lectures ..freaking hate it.

ARGH 6 months of holidays seemed so short... I enjoyed those 6 months so much.
Being able to sleep late everyday and not worry about waking up to a specific time the following morning.
Being able to play Xbox/PC games for hours without constraint (I can control myself lol .. )
Being able to go out anytime I want
blah blah blah ...
:(

And most importantly,I used to exercise quite frequently on the nights of the holiday. Mainly to maintain my fitness level and physique. Now,I doubt I can exercise regularly anymore..
Lessons till late in the noon, extra lessons, really taking up alot of my time. Even if I get home early,I'll be tired or might have work to do ..

sigh~ I hope I can adjust to studying life asap.

It's been a while since I've last updated.. and it appears that the Batman bin Suparman thing in my previous post was damn old already... I thought it was some recent online viral thing or what... fail -.-

Anyways,Poly life, I would say, is not as hectic as JC life.
But it sure ain't far from it either.

It's only the second week of lessons and the lecturers are already trying to make us get used to homework. And honestly, I don't know if I'm the only one, but I kinda miss wearing uniform to school. Mainly because when you're in a uniform, everyone's wearing the same thing and it kinda makes you feel united, psychologically.
Now that we're all wearing our own clothes, it 'feels' harder to conceive them as my school mates. Get what I mean? It's just a psychological thing. Don't know if it's just me or what :\

Other than that, Poly life is kinda fun, as long as you know how to have fun.. Haha
My classmates seem to be nice people :)
But I still haven't gotten to know them well enough yet.
Oh well, I guess it's all part of meeting new friends :\

Sigh .. the more I think about it, the more I miss my Marist friends. And it just makes me wonder whether I would still be in touch with them in the future, like maybe 10 years down the road or something.
:(

Wouldn't it be sad if you made such close friends in Secondary school, but due to different academic results or interests, had to go to different JCs or Polys?
And then both of you make new friends and start to drift apart from each other until eventually, both of you lose touch with each other.

That's kinda what I fear might happen to my close friends who are all in various JCs and Polys now :(
It'd be sad of course, but life has to go on :\

hmm this week has been quite tiring

totally not used to travelling for almost 1hour everyday,squeezing with working adults in the mrt on the way

all the long travelling makes me cherish my Secondary school even more,when it took only half an hour to travel,peaceful and crowd-less

Yay got my new laptop

it's so sexy and it's 4GB ram,my desktop com is run by only a measly 1GB ram ...

I can immediately feel the difference by using this and my desktop ... in my desktop,when I click on a song to be played in windows media player,it takes at least half a minute to load up

but my new 4GB ram laptop does that almost instantly,when I double click on the song,windows media player straight away starts up and plays the song. WOOOOOO !!!

DAMN! Holiday ends in 5 days T.T

It's so bad as to having to sleep after sunrise and waking up after sunset.

It's like a complete reversal of my biological clock.

Gotta change all of this soon anyway,since Poly is starting in a month or so.

Came back from Malaysia on Sunday

anyways,didn't take any pictures.
Had nothing interesting/special to take :\

spent most of the time there visiting grandma's house/relatives
and of course,receiving ang paos

received about 80RM from there.. +.+
pretty suckish,but like I said in previous posts,CNY is not all about receiving ang paos.

played poker and a little mahjong with them,won 5RM in poker,haha. Lost the first round of mahjong,but then I didn't pay cause someone else took over me all the way.
HAHAHA,I didn't quite know how to play it yet,so better be safe then sorry :)

other than that,nothing much interesting happened.
and luckily the hotel I stayed in had free wi-fi,if not I would've been bored to death in the hotel room :\

CNY 2011

Chinese New Year is just around the corner!

and sadly,I ain't gonna receive any ang paos (in Singapore at least) cause I just heard that my relatives are not going to visit us this year,due to unforseen circumstances ._.

Anyway,like every Chinese New Year,I always head up to Malaysia to visit more relatives.
This year's no exception
and I always receive no more than a total of 100RM every CNY ..
not much in SGD either... -.-
but really,it's not the ang baos I'm most looking forward to ( as most youths would -.- ) ,but rather the joyous and festive occasion that it brings.

Heading up to Malaysia always makes me feel relaxed,as I mentioned countless times over posts that I had made on frequent trips to Malaysia

Going there allows me to escape from the rather stressful / boring life in Singapore and unwind a little.
Being able to see scenic views and less hectic environments and yea etc...
I've mentioned this many times already,on posts that I made about trips to Malaysia..

I don't know whether I should be looking forward to Chinese New Year or not.
This year's one doesn't seem to evoke any interest/enthusiasm in me

Don't know if it's because I'm getting older and CNYs tend to get less and less significant each year,or is it because nothing has cued any sign of interest/enthusiasm in me.
Like for example,when I was still studying in Primary & Secondary school,CNY celebrations would be held in the school hall prior to the start of CNY.

Those celebrations gave me more exposure to the joyous festivities that CNYs await every year.
This year though,I don't get to see any celebrations ,unless I go back to Maris just to witness it. lol ._.

Nevertheless,CNY is an auspicious period of time for every Chinese person all-year-round to relish, and whether or not they choose to celebrate it,it should still be a time for joy and good luck to be spread and savoured.

Oh well,I guess life's back to normal after CNY.
school and office functions have to start working again,everything gets busy after CNY!

except Poly students,who have another two months to wait for the Poly term to start!

went to the zoo with friends today
the ticket costed us $28 each ..

fucking rip-off,but it included unlimited tram rides and a free 5-minute fish spa session

haven't visited the zoo since Sec1 or 2,can't remember,when I went there for an excursion
not much change though :\
everything's more or less the same

walked around the zoo trails for several hours until my legs became sore,so the unlimited tram rides came to our advantage :P

after the visit,had Japanese cuisine for dinner,then went to Virtualand @ amk for no apparent reason ._.

made our way home after that as it was getting late. Great company,but the zoo's just not a fun place to hang out. So overall,the outing was ok ..
it could've been better if we had chosen a better place,or if the ticket prices were not so expensive -.-

O'level results day

AHHHH !!!!!

it's finally over!!! ...
the freaking O'level results have been released

the anxious, long 2-month wait for the results came to an end today and they just seemed to pass in the blink of an eye.
Getting the results back today sort of opened up a new lease of life for me

it made me realise how important education was,well...especially in Singapore
and witnessing some people shed tears while others express their ecstacy in different ways,was like witnessing a myriad of emotions

all of us were like anxiety bombs,waiting to set off any moment while waiting for our turns to retrieve the slips

what was a 20minute journey from home to school,seemed like the longest 20minutes I had ever taken to get to school :x
and it could have well probably been the last time I visited the school,other than band-related events..

and within these two months,all I kept thinking to myself was how badly I was going to do,especially due to the fact that I knew I had screwed my Humans up

nevertheless,I braced myself mentally and eventually went up to retrieve my results slip,and at first I dared not look,but then my teacher just took it out and flashed it right in front of my eyes

when I saw my results,my heart was too jumpy to count my L1R5
I stood up impulsively, then immediately walked to the back of the hall,where it was quieter, allowing me to catch a breath or two.

I then managed to calm myself down and tally my L1R5 score
I won't say my score here because I am particular sensitive about revealing information online.
just an uncanny habit,don't mind me

but I can affirm you that my L1R5 is below 20,not single digit though,of course o.o

anyway,what's done is done..
I now have to set my mind into post-O'level life that lies ahead

the headache now,is choosing the courses that I want to take in Poly, decisions that will ultimately determine my future
and I have until Friday to make those 12 choices. Pretty rushed,but I guess it's their way of speeding up procedings.

and who knows,I might even consider JC education :0 hmm..

*sighs of relief* ~~~
I've now got a heavy load of my chest removed,and what lies ahead is only the beginning of a new life for me

the road to O'levels and the O'levels itself have changed my life significantly,and this four-year Secondary school experience,I would say,has not been put to a waste
I really cherish these four years I had in Maris Stella,and I'll never forget the friends I've made, and the memories I had with them,even though I might not be all-that close to them

this is life ultimately...you have to move on no matter what
and so,I wish all graduated Sec4s all the best with life no matter where it leads you,
and good luck to all graduating Sec4s this year for your O'levels!

I stayed over in school yesterday with some fellow Sec4 band mates and some other alumni people as it was the last night of the band camp

brought my xbox360 and settled in the band room when all the games were still going on

they'd asked the Sec4s and alumni ppl to apply ketchup and talcum powder(flour like powder) onto their faces and scare the band members throughout the whole night

then there was the inevitable nightwalk,a band camp tradition,lol
there's a cemetary beside MSHS and yes,we had to walk inside it every band camp

it wasn't as scary this year as previous years though, as they were not blindfolded this time..
nevertheless,the real fun eventually kicked in when all the band members finally managed to fall asleep in their sleeping bags in the hall while the Sec4s and alumnis could stay in the air-conditioned band room and slack all night yea ~!

took out my 360 and plugged it into the AV component, grabbed the controllers and had all the fun we could have ever hoped for~!
:)

we then got hungry and decided to call McDelivery,I ordered a McBistro meal,hmm not bad
and somehow,McDelivery doesn't taste as good when you're alone as when you're with friends

perhaps it's a psychological kinda thing,when you're with friends,it's more enjoyable and therefore the food seems tastier? haha

anyway,a few hours just passed like that.. and it was soon time for the band members to wake up

and when they did, I was feeling kinda tired alrdy,and then went home soon after
...
hmm,seems like a great way to spend the last few days of 2010,for me at least :)
oh well,it's New Year's Eve

looking forward to 2011? I'm not too sure,but all I know is 2010 has been a truly hectic year for me and all the Sec4s taking their O'level exams
so glad that it is finally over

and now the biggest worry, is the freaking O'level results that will be released on the 10th of January
that's 10 days away damnit ..

it couldn't seem any closer could it T.T
I just hope ITE is not the only choice for me seriously
that would be my biggest concern,anything could go wrong

:( argh! so worried,oh well..
10 more days to my future's making!
gotta enjoy these remaining 10 days as much as I possibly can before doom arrives!

back from Christmas at M'sia / band camp

okay,I'm finally updating my blog after the long Christmas weekend I spent away in Malaysia

my parents drove me and my sister up to visit our relatives there
we left on Thursday night

did nothing there but sleep and eat
visited relatives ,
and enjoyed the peaceful ,non-heavily urbanized surroundings that we were in

one of the things I enjoy about going up to Malaysia is to destress,not physically,but mentally
I mean.. in Singapore,you look around you and all you see is roads,buildings and cars.

and the roads here are so tight and constricted,living alongside them makes me feel the same way too,only to make things worse with the increasing number of cars on the road every year

over there in Malaysia,the roads are like 1.5x wider than the roads here,and traffic congestion is hardly encountered

and you can actually witness greenery and scenic views along the roads,unlike the concrete jungle we're all living in ._.

and although I can say I didn't really talk or socialize with my relatives much,as I'm not really close to them,I kinda enjoyed the trip altogether
but it could also be that I brought my laptop,if not I would've died of boredom there

came back on Sunday night,not surprisingly gaining abit of weight ..haha
and spent Monday rotting at home

I went back to band camp yesterday,and it was hell fun !!!
for three consecutive years(Sec1 - 3) ,band camps are compulsory, and so I had to attend all three of them

and all of them had games where we were sure to get wet,either by fire hoses being sprayed at us,or water bombs being hurled at us like grenades
this year,some others and I could finally be the ones getting them wet and so we did!

We went balloon shopping to stock up on water bombs >:D

rushed back to school to fill them up before the games started and when they did, HOOOORAAHHH ~~!!!
we raided the poor and innocent Sec1-3 members with fire hoses and water bombs as if we were insane three year old GTA addicts

hell it was so much fun !
and I'm going back tonight to witness the campfire and to stayover with fellow Sec4s to slack and enjoy the last night of the camp

and of course,I'll be bringing my xbox360 there for us to relish the thought of reaping the fruits of our labour for enduring four years of hard work that we put into the band(at least I think we did o.o)

New Year's Day is in two days time
hope ya'll have plans to celebrate it and to wave a last goodbye to the rough and tough year that has finally come to an end

I've been playing maple private server recently as I've got nothing to do -.-

and private server is based on MapleGlobal's server

so you get to meet Maplers from all over the world instead of within the region only

and yesterday I was training and met this mapler from the Dominican Republic

I was sharing the map him and he didn't bother at all o.o

such a nice guy

I bet if it were MapleSEA and some Singaporean guy instead,he would have asked me to cc like instantly or something...

it just goes to show how stingy Singaporeans are and that there are much nicer people out there in the world

Harry Potter

watched Harry Potter yesterday night

it was okay I guess,but wasn't as exciting as I had expected it to be
perhaps cause it was only Part I

the holidays are getting kinda boring nowadays
haven't really done anything fun or significantly memorable
I wanna go cycling with friends one of these days

the last time I cycled with friends was during the holidays of 2008,when I was Sec2
it was one of the most memorable times I had with my friends

my legs got cramped that time as I didn't warm my legs up before paddling
we cycled to-and-fro ECP and Changi
a total distance of at least 14km

and then on the way back to ECP,it started raining when we had about 3km left to complete. So we got drenched from head to toe,and we had to cycle for about 30mins until the next shelter.
It was seriously epic,but precisely why it was so memorable :)

I'm hoping that I can go cycling again one of these days to make my holidays feel more complete =\

Grad Night

damn it's been a week now since my last post
oh well..probably due to my sudden obsession with maple..

geez,like everybody's playing it now.. weird o.o
anyway,last Thursday was my school's graduation dinner.

I didn't take any pictures with my Nokia N97mini but most of them were taken with other people's cameras
They're all over my fb pics. Lazy to put them up here.. haha

The past week has not been really meaningful as of yet.. did nothing much but stay at home and play maple,slack with friends etc..
and my parents are nagging at me all the time to get a job..

gosh,I don't see the point of having a job during the holidays.. we students deserve a break during the holidays,not a job..
but true enough,we students need the money too :\
so getting a job isn't that bad after all

sighs~ .. nothing is free in the world... =.=
so basically,the holidays are like

Enjoy and slack,but have the need to beg your parents for money
OR
Work and have no time for slack,but have the supply of cash $_$

end of O'levels(officially)

well yesterday was pretty fun
took my last paper - CLB listening compre..

was pretty easy..except some of the questions were a little tricky
hmm..anyways,yeah! no more papers :)

I then went on to play soccer at the Cage.
gosh as soon as I started warming up,I could feel my heart pounding super fast...shows how long I've not been exercising ...

so I chose to play goalkeeper as being a goalkeeper,I didn't have to move much... hahaha :P
I also played barefoot.. and I got my feet 'raped' twice. One was a result of a tackle that my friend did to me and accidentally kicked my right foot. It was not that bad,until another of my friend accidentally stepped on it,and he was wearing studded shoes. STUDDED! xO !

so I have few bruises on leg now..but you can barely see them..it's very minor
argh..my whole body is sore now..haven't played soccer for a long time..damn
need to rest a few days before I start on my jogging routine.

Oh well,the holidays have just begun!

end of O'levels

well it's my last official O'level paper today..
CLB listening compre...

a half-an-hour paper in the morning... =.= a serious waste of time ..
but it's not that bad cos I'm gonna play soccer afterwards

the paper is from 8 - 8.30 a.m
and soccer is from 9 - 1 :D

so after the paper I don't have to wait and I can go to the venue straight away :)
gosh I haven't played soccer since Prelim 2,let alone did any form of exercise..
I wonder if I can last through the 5 hours later. lol

I'm gonna make a commitment to go jogging every night during the holidays. The lack of exercise these few months really makes me feel like I'm growing laterally more than vertically. sighs~

anyways,that's one of the many things I wish to do during the holidays.
Other things include(not ranked in order) :

1. Completing the whole stack of Xbox360 games which I had relentlessly been buying since I got my Xbox360 (had no time to play them due to school and stuff..)

2. Finding a part-time job(maybe) .Who doesn't love money... :o

3. Learn German (I did consider before O's but I'm not too sure about it now)

4. Play lots of soccer (YEA! )

5. Spend quality sleepover parties with my lads.
( Quality would mean that it is not held in my house. I'm currently looking for solutions to having sleepovers in another place other than my house as my room is sandwiched between my sister and grandma's rooms. Any noise pollution is hardly tolerated by them,so having a sleepover elsewhere without anybody around is just AWESOME! We can scream at the top of our lungs and nobody would care! xD )

And some of the luxurious requests I hope my parents would get me are :

1. A keyboard in my room (There's a main piano in the living room but my grandma stays in the living room most of the time and I don't wanna disturb her.. So yea,I need a personal keyboard) =x

2. A pair of running shoes (all my shoes are either for soccer or going out,I don't have running shoes,which I will need if I'm going to jog every night)

3. A makeover for my room (dull wall paintings,dusty furniture.. bleargh)

4. At least a 2GB computer RAM. (My computer RAM is at the moment 1GB only,which would surely be unable to sustain a smooth performance much longer)

Well,those are sort of what I want rather than what I need,but I hope my parents would appease anyway :P

sighs... it's the time when everyone had dreamed would faster arrive,the end of O'levels
But ironically,many people(including me) don't feel the significance of the O's ending. Sounds pretty weird,but I myself can't explain why either.

Don't call me crazy for saying this. But I kinda miss the days before O's,where I would be doing A & E maths past-year prelim papers from various schools with uncanny interest.
Well,I wouldn't deny that I practised Math the most in the months leading to O's. So having to part with Math all of a sudden feels very weird,same goes for the other subjects I guess.

That's what I feel though,not sure about everyone else...but the O's have just ended and the holidays have only just started. The sudden change in mood could be why I'm feeling this way,mixed emotions of happiness and sadness.

Oh well,just gotta wait abit more for the holiday mood to really kick in I guess.
Meanwhile,I should be glad that I can finally get to do all the stuff I couldn't do before the O's..

completed English , E Maths , A Maths and Chem(MCQ not yet) papers so far

finally the weekend is here to set my mind straight for the upcoming week of papers

this week's been hell of a hectic one...back to back papers everyday
the only good thing is that most of them were in the noon
so I could study till late and wake up abit later

other than that,the papers were quite manageable
I just hope I don't get a C grade for any of them :(

next week is Physics and all the Humanities . CRAP

Kuishinbo + O'levels in two weeks time

yesterday was the last official day of school for the Sec4s :(

last day of 4 years of Marist-hood for many ; 10 years for some...like me

and no matter how much we complained about the school,we still love it :)

I'll miss the teachers,the food,and most certainly my friends :(

but I guess it's a phase all of us have to go through in life...having to part with our besties :(

unless all of us have the same scores and JC/Poly choices...it's really hard to move on going to the same school =(

classmates who are close with each other will feel the saddest when leaving the school,but people like me,who aren't close to my classmates,won't really feel a significant change in their lives ... =\

I don't really care if any of my classmates see this...cause honestly,they all know that my close friends are all from other classes

my only concern now is the O'levels,which are two weeks away! O.O

the food was great

it has been a great holiday where we had a much-needed break..

spent the month, or rather, two weeks..(due to the first two weeks being taken up for holiday lessons) doing nothing much really..

rotted at home throughout the two weeks..

the only fun thing I did was paintball,and inviting friends over for world cup matches and sleepovers

well.. holidays are over.. so fun aside now.. no more sleepovers,no more watching world cup (DAMN!)

less than 20 weeks to O'levels :(

these 3+ months, now determines how well I do for O'levels :x

argh~ stress!!!

hmm... school starts again tomorrow. oh well.. think positive.. at least I don't get to rot at home anymore =\

wooo ~!

went paintball-ing at Johor on Saturday with JoonWoon & his family + WeiJie + his bro's friend.. lol

had to wake up at 5.30a.m to take MRT to Tiong Bahru where his parents picked WeiJie & I up

but worth it though =)

considering I couldn't sleep throughout the night due to excitement and eagerness..

well..actually,I did.. but only at 4a.m O.O
lol

that explains why I slept almost the whole time in the car ..
espcially the jam on the causeway that made it more tempting to sleep to kill time. lol

we were planning to reach the site by 9a.m .. but due to the jam and losing our way when we reached Johor..

we only reached the site at 12 noon -.- ..

we played for two hours,until 2p.m ..

and in case you've been wondering why we went Johor to play and not Singapore.. is because the rates there are 2 or 3 times cheaper than here..

2000 paint pellets there cost total 455RM , I think.. whereas in Singapore, it would cost around 500SGD .. +.+ ..
totally worth the time and effort to go there..

anyway.. PAINTBALL IS SUPER FUN =D

yesterday was a fun-filled day.. or rather,a fun-filled night..

started of yesterday by waking up in the morning to study in Bugis library with JoonWoon

one of the rare times,I would say,where we actually sat down quietly and studied without being distracted most of the time =P

after studying till around 4+ .. he decided to wanna stay-over at my place

after getting consent from his mum, yeah~! we headed home and let the party began xD

Randy and RenBin soon joined in the sleepover, but hell,it was a rather fun sleepover.

we watched God of Gamblers 1 & 2 online.. haha,epic Chinese gambling movies back in the 80's ..

that killed most of our time, where we spent the remaining hours before midnight playing Fifa10 on my Xbox360

totally had an epic time playing it...
especially all 4 of us choosing a 5-star team and losing to a half-star team whom we chose as the opponent..

thereafter,we headed to Macs at 2.30a.m to catch free world cup screening,haha

it was considerably crowded, perhaps cause it was FREE, therefore people who didn't suscribe to world cup had to go there to watch, and cause it was Brazil vs North Korea.. Brazil obviously being the fan-favourite country :)

the match ended in a 2-1 victory to Brazil, yay :D

it was soon 5a.m where we got back to my house and then finally couldn't take it anymore and our eyes just shut off *.*

yea,it was a multitude of fun yesterday :D
but sadly.. I had tuition today and have to start the mugging engine already..

oh well... 14 more weeks !!!

allergic reactions

it is now the start of a two-week break for us Sec4's .. while the rest are on their 3rd week already..

anyway,I haven't blogged over the weekend due to some allergic reaction sickness that I got on Thursday night..

which was why I didn't go school on Friday.. hah, I missed two holiday lessons.. bleargh ~

I don't know what I consumed.. but on Thursday night,after my dinner. I starting feeling itchy all over the body.. thought that they were just mosquito bites..

but the following morning,when I woke up.. my whole body had patches of puffed up skin.. damn disgusting..

I wanted to take a picture and post it here .. but I'd rather not.. it's truly disgusting...
and itchy..

went to the doc. , got a jab, took some pills,and the reaction stabilized over the weekend.

phew ~ that's the benefits of living in a country like Singapore, where you just have to walk at most 20mins to find the nearest doctor..

and due to all the inactivity that I've been facing over the weekend - no soccer,no running, etc..

I've gained 2.5kg over the weekend... -.-

and I went to play soccer just now.. my sweat smelt worse than a fish market...

this shows how much toxin accumulated in my body over the weekend... it feels good to finally get rid of them.. =)

and my hands are still slightly swollen. Hopefully after one more round of pills tonight, I should fully recover by tomorrow =x

last day of holiday lessons

whoa

the week has just gone like that.. two weeks.. in fact o.o ..

the holiday lessons actually took up half of the whole holidays .. =P

well I don't mind.. cause I know by staying at home,I'd rot away anyway ..

admittingly,the holiday lessons are quite fun & productive =)

despite the early mornings, the lessons themselves are worth the time already :)

school life is so much more peaceful without the other levels(in my opinion) ..

but I gotta admit.. as the holidays draw closer to an end, the heat on O'levels only gets higher..

there is almost no time left,unless something is done from now onwards.. =\

this is the period of time where most Sec4's will start activating mugger mode, going into an anti-social, pressurizing state until the O'levels are over..

I gotta say, I can't exclude myself of course.. guess this blog will be dead-er and dead-er by the days..

until O'levels..that is.. =\

anyway, tomorrow is the last day of the holiday lessons. hmm ... glad that I can finally take a break, but at the same time worried about how I'm going to spend the remaining two weeks and if I can use it wisely :(

one week of the holidays have just passed ..

time really flies..

as a matter of fact,I wouldn't even claim this as a holiday for me & the rest of the Sec4's ..

one week of extra lessons have just passed, and there's one more week of lessons left

thereafter,the two remaining weeks are not meant for slacking either ..

with regards to my lousier than lousy L1R5 score for Prelim 1 .. I have withdrawn from an alumni competition(SIBF - Singapore International Band Festival) that takes place in July ..

I didn't want to withdraw.. cos the parts I'm playing for the songs are my favourite..

but seriously.. my L1R5 is like higher than my average percentage... =.= ... think about how F*CKED UP that is can?

and there is what.. less than 4.5 months to O'levels?

sigh~
oh gosh..

I'm not afraid about the effort I have to put in for these 4months
but rather
it is the fear of succumbing to the pressure

back from Sabah

ok..

time to blog about the Sarawak,or rather,Sabah trip ...

cause by the time I reached there,I realised we were actually touring Sabah.. and not Sarawak.. so I kinda mixed them up .

anyways.. Sabah's quite a nice place.. it's home to South East Asia's tallest mountain, Mount Kinabalu

the locals call actually call it Mt. Akinabalu , with the 'A' in front. They believe it's a mountain for your souls to rest on after death.

akina means ancestors, balu means mountain. It simply means ancestral mountain.. if you translate it to English.. and my tour guide said that every true Sabahan must climb the mountain at least once in their lifetime, so that when he/she dies, his/her soul 'knows the way' to the mountain

that explains why people believe they can see faces out of the mountain rocks..which are believed to be the ancestors who rest there now..

well,I spent the first day sitting in a van for 2hours + as soon as I reached the airport, which drove us all the way to our resort up in the middle of the mountains via roads that were constructed to 'twirl' around the mountain.

It was a truly tiresome trip up there, imagine sitting 2hours in a vehicle.. in Singapore,you only need 1hour vehicle ride,or even less, to travel from East to West Coast O.O

and the elevation was constantly rising as the lorry drove higher and higher... with lots of sharp turns to make.. the trip made me giddy,I can still feel the twirls and whirls in my head now +.+ ..

but it was a truly memorable experience

since the altitude was so high, a look out of the van saw us shrouded in clouds

I didn't take pictures of the shrouding of the clouds =(

but imagine driving past soft and wooly cotton balls high up in the sky xD .. lol? nvm -.-

but other than the ascent up to the mountain, there were many other memorable events that happened and sights that we witnessed

anyways, when we finally reached the mountain hotel, I immediately got off the van, and because it was raining, the air there was like air-con .. seriously,I think even colder than the lowest temperature your air-con can go :D

and the hotel rooms didn't have air-con ...THERE DIDN'T NEED TO BE ANY!!! free air-con.... =)

there was nothing much to do up there, so I just lazed in the hotel room and watched TV =\

haha.. the second day arrived, and it was full of activities, we first took a 45min ride via lorry to Mount Kinabalu National Park, where we walked on canopy walkways. It was quite scary at first, because the bridge was slightly shaky, and I held on to the side ropes very tightly =x

but nevertheless,it was an accomplishable task for many first timers,including myself :)

look at how tall this tree is. The ropes you see are what binds the bridges in place
what you see below is not the forest floor,but it's the canopy.. it's at least 30m from the forest floor from up here...

after the canopy trek, we went for hot spring baths

that was pretty much everything that happened on the second day.

After the hot springs, we went back to the hotel to have a quick bath and then packed our luggage and went on another 2hour+ lorry ride down to sea level again :)

we then checked in at another hotel in the city side

it was by the beach. Which meant that there was plenty of beach activities. Went snorkling on the 3rd day, and I got bitten by a fish on my left middle finger. So you want to see the injury,fish? Take a look at my middle finger then _I_

after that, I just waited for the following day to come and then HOME SWEET HOME!!!

that's pretty much the whole trip summarized. cya folks ~! enjoy ur hols :D

went to play soccer @ Kallang,The Cage on Fri

it was fun, considering I haven't played for a long time

but had body cramps all over ..

then I went for alumni prac on Saturday ..

whereby after practice,I played soccer in school and attempted to do a bicycle kick(somersault kick)

I ended up on the wrong side of my back, the side

now I'm dealing with a twisted lower left-back of my body

you have no idea how pain it is

well,actually it's bearable.. but it gets damn irritating at times, especially when I move my hips.

that's pretty much the stuff that happened over the weekend ... fatigue and injuries prevailed in me

our 'last' paper actually ended yesterday, E Maths paper 1

anyways,Wednesday was the 2nd last day of the exams, where I went to JoonWoon's house along with Dwayne, where WeiJie soon met up with us.

we then went to play pool @ Mt.Faber SAFRA

it's been a long time since I've been there, let alone played pool

hah,we were basically 'celebrating' already,although we had an E Maths paper left.. but none of us seemed to care xD

hmm ...

yesterday was the last paper, and ironically, I had tuition in the afternoon, lol..sad life :(

but before that, friends and co. came over to my house to slack and stuff.. heh .

and so...

a whole season of English Premier League football ended this weekend

that's >38 weeks of English football in place

cause in case you didn't know how long a season in Premier League football lasts, one season comprises of 38 games, in which each game is normally pre-scheduled before the season starts, to be played every weekend, so that ticket sales can exceed weekday sales.

so why isit >38 weeks of football? cause some weeks in between are taken up for competitions in other cups or league events..
e.g - a one week break in Premier League due to International friendlies,matches etc..
OR
it could be due to an involvement of a club,let's say ManU,Chelsea,Liverpool or Arsenal , in an external league. like the Champions League,a European-based League

or it could just be simply due to unforeseen events like a snow-covered pitch,therefore the need to postpone a game.. etc

yea,that's just to give you a brief info. on a season in the English Premier League.

well of course,sad to say..from the URL of my blog, you can tell I'm a ManUnited fan ..

but unfortunately,they didn't win the title this season...

the title ..... belonged to Chelsea... ~.~

but it's okay.. shan't be greedy... cause ManU have been claiming the previous three titles .. it's Chelsea's turn ... I guess? haha :P

hmm...

seemingly a pretty dead blog here...

no mood to blog,as I've been mugging everyday for the week for various subjects in the exams

hmm..

English was rather tough,I felt ... the Compre especially.. teacher who set the paper must've been over-ambitious +.+

haha. CLB paper was epic.
for Paper 1 (letter writing & compo) , that you normally take in CL, you have to write a letter and a compo right? and the time given is usually 2 hours or so..

but for CLB, they let you choose between letter writing or compo ... and the time given is 1 hour ~

seriously.. epic
and for Paper 2 ( the main paper ) , the CL paper would be 1.5 hours,I think, .. while the CLB paper was only 1hour .. with 30 MCQ questions only...

lol...

E math paper 2 wasn't that bad as I expected.. quite easy nonetheless.. except that I screwed myself up by not having enough time to complete 2 more questions that I could've gotten 'free' marks out of.. +.+

that's 22 marks out of 80 gone... f*ck =.= ...

same for SS , not enough time.. bleh~
my combined Humans are inevitably screwed.. with E.History not yet taken!!!

haha,I'll be expecting an E or F for my Combined Humans this term.. =.= .. they've never been good anyway :\

then there's Chem and Physical Geog

I think I did reasonably well for Chem, probably a high B3 to low A1 .. yeh =)

it started two or three weeks ago,where every recess,after a meal, I'd go to the SRC ( Student Recreational Centre ) to [PLAY CHINESE CHESS] (don't think wrongly :P ) with my classmate.

don't know.. maybe it was just out of boredom ..

and then , wow.. we hadn't played it for a long time.

therefore we had forgotten how fun and engaging it was

since then,we've been playing more chinese chess, lol ~!

and now,one of my classmates brought a mini CC set to school ..hmm

LAST DAY OF BAND

Yesterday was officially the last day of band for the Sec 4's .. Sports Day that is..

therefore,no more band !!!! wooooo!~!!!! xD

anyways..

it was a half day,school ended at 10a.m

so we just waited for lessons to end like impatiently.. xP

it was located at Hougang Stadium

the band members had to report at band room at 10.30 though'.. while the others could report straight to the stadium at 12.45

but good thing is we got to go home early .. =P

anyway ..

this year's Sports Day was really boring .. just the routine al' races ...

except that this time, the band got to go onto the soccer field to do a final presentation to the school,our formation display,that claimed our school a distinction in the SYF Assessment :)

hmm.. apart from that, everything else was pretty much the same as the previous years of boring sports days... *yawns* , lol

it was a concert that emphasized on ARTS(therefore the emphasis on the word 'ART' in the name of the concert)..

got to see performances from the choir(where Jess performed :)

Guzheng Tuan(BaoYing & YongLe performed too :)

and other performing arts like drama, dance, band, guitar ensemble, harp ensemble, handbells and PL inspiration(a performance that comprised of handpicked talents from an audition)..

it was abit too lengthy though'.. 3hours... +.+

but it was worth it,for $10 =P

yay!!

today will be the last band rehearsal/practice I will have for my secondary school life..

although I'm happy about it,there are some sad thoughts to it ;\

happy that I can finally concentrate on my studies AT LAST !!!

gosh .. u don't know how torturous it to cope with studies with CCA practically nearly 5 times a week ..

and with O'levels this year.. +.+ ... phew ~! so glad that cca will no longer be a hinderance.. =)

other than concentrating on studies, I don't have to go school on SATURDAYS anymore !!!!

which has become a band tradition.. as band pracs are always on Wednesday and Saturday ..

which is damn damn damn(x 10000) ... SIAN , cause Saturday's pracs always start in the morning.. at 8a.m ..

which means our Friday nights are deprived of late nights after an entire 5 days of a school-week .. +.+ ...

well,that's pretty much all the stuff I'm happy about passing out :D

hmm... well the sad part is that..

I'll have to part with my beloved section mates ;(

I'll eventually miss Saturday morning pracs,and some point in time,actually wish to go back for practice..

it's human psychology .. when things are offered to you,or given in excess, you take them for granted and usually don't cherish them ..
only when you lose them,will you regret not cherishing them earlier on ...

so yea.. after passing out,I will definitely miss the times I've spent in band =(

and the memories I've had with my juniors and bandmates .. lovely :)

SYF assessment and Beautiful Sunday concert are over !!!!

I didn't have time to blog for the previous two days cause I've been back late and sleepy,so I didn't have any mood to blog.

but now that all the performances are over !!!

I can finally relax for abit,excluding studies though, of course... =(

this sucks,I wish there'd be no school tmr,I really need a break, I'm dying fatigue caused by continuous days of band ~!!!!

anyways

it's just great that it's all over now! =D

especially getting a DISTINCTION for the SYF assessment

the few months of hard work put in by the band definitely paid off =)

I'm so proud of the occassion :)

anyways,after performing,we got to see Display Bands perform their own antics
it was quite nice :)

hi all

finally get a chance to update after a series of band-related activities got the better of my energy

anyways

had band sectionals with on Friday

GOOD FRIDAY,it was..

but heh! it didn't turn out so bad :)

started off the day,reporting to band room at 9a.m

then started practice

it was fun,considering it was only sectionals,and not FULL band :)

so it was more peaceful,and allowed section bonding to take place

err.. haha xD

yea,we shared laughter and tears of joy together.. =P

esp when my junior slipped and fell twice while practising the steps xP

it was epic,everyone couldn't stop laughing ..

lol,you had to be there to witness it

...

hahaha

it was all fun and practice until lunch time!

where we were so kindly treated for lunch by our instructor

and we headed back to school after lunch,to continue practising .

it was not long before I ended the day off playing soccer with some of my section mates

no pics,but it was quite a memorable experience

all the Sec fours went to the newly air-conditioned hall for recess

it was a special,extended recess of course

we sat down on the floor with banana leafs as plates and no eating utensils

there were just Zappy wet wipes which we used to wipe our hands clean after eating

the food was nice,but VERY ,repeat , VERY oily

we were served Roti prata,a piece of fried chicken and grapes

the oil in a single piece of roti prata served was more than enough to fry two more pratas

damn disgusting .

each prata served was like 80% oil, 20% flour .. yucks

but other than that, the experience was quite enjoyable, four people to one plate

5 pratas, 4 pieces of chicken and a bowl of grapes on each banana leaf

well,that was the spirit of the Agape meal , the spirit of sharing,I guess? :)

oh,and it was April Fool's ... lmao

nothing epic really happened in school this year, boring much ..

except that we sang a birthday song for our form teacher,when her birthday has actually passed already .. xD

oh,and I received,what I think, was a prank call from some retarded girl later at night..

what,asking me if I knew about prostrate cancer,and if I knew where my prostrate gland was ..

wtf ???? ~!!!!!!

I was like " O.O ??? !! "

she went on to elaborate and later on went on to talk something about the anus ...

disturbing shit ..

I kept on thinking it was a prank, cause she didn't sound very serious

what the hell ..

bet it was a frikking prank call ... =.=

damnit.. what the hell..

worst of all is, I don't know who the hell she really is.. and whether it was really a nurse or some retard ..

anyways,that was yesterday ..

well,since Maris Stella is a Catholic school,its Christian traditions are obviously not shortlived

and my school will be letting us engage in this 'agape meal' for tomorrow's recess, it'll be an extended recess,no tables,no eating utensils

we'll be sitting down on the floor like Japanese/Koreans and eat with our bare hands :D

have to go back to school from morning til late noon..to settle flaws or mistakes in the marching display ..

another pretty boring weekend again ..

had band on Friday..

had RenBin to stay over at my house, sorta our weekly Friday routine now. lol

had band on Saturday(yesterday)

went to City Square with band friends and seniors for dinner at a Japanese food court

had an epic day yesterday ..

everyone had studied for the SS mock test yesterday..

and those who didn't.. well,was worrying about how badly they'd fail , not leaving me out of course :P..

and so .. the test was after school.. and of course I expected to fail ..

and one of my classmate had some serious sinus problem ..

he sneezed like 20 + times in 30mins ..

and 31 times throughout the whole test

that didn't fail to cheer us up during the test..

and then .. the whole test was like a freaking rickroll (LOL)

there was no invigilator .. and our teacher left us on our own 'integrity' ...not to cheat when he left the class..

and so ,we didn't cheat.. we were doing the test diligently like a real test..

and then I fell asleep halfway lol..for like 10mins

hah

and then .. after the test ended... the most f*cked up thing happened..

yes,the rickroll..

the teacher gave us the answer scheme and told us to go home to mark ourselves..

we were like "WTF!! " omg... kena cheated..

haha.. well,epic mock test man .. damn the teachers! revenge is a must,hehehe >: D

alright..

today was a damn screwed day to begin with ..

had to wake up at 5.30a.m cos I had to be in school by 6.30 with the band,to go to the Indoor Stadium for a sound-check/rehearsal ..

and I had to wake up at that time prior to a night I spent doing up my English compre homework until 3a.m ...

so inevitably ..

I overslept ..

so I thought I could salvage a cab at the last moment as I stepped out of my house..

but f*ck it..

I thought wrong..

so , I was like at the bus stop.. skipping all the buses,determined to wait for 'a certain' cab that would be coming soon

I also thought wrong ..

so in the end,I walked all the way down to Kovan MRT(due to the taxi stand that was situated there),still...no cab

so in the end... trained to Serangoon to try to hitch a cab there..

I was mighty late already..

it was like an epic struggle for survival,as I was racing against time to reach school before the bus set off (otherwise,I had to make my own way to the Indoor Stadium)

so I did manage to get a cab in Serangoon, I was like.. *oh.. thank god! finally O.O *

but it was freaking like.. 6.56a.m already? and the bus was supposed to be scheduled to leave at 7 ... =O !

I was frantically panicking.. delusional, worried, guilty.. all at the same time..

oh gosh ..

even the cab driver could tell from my facial expression that I was rushing for time, and worried about something ..

in the end,I was mighty lucky ..maybe miraculous? I don't know..

but I got to school on time by the limits of the boundary

as soon as I paid the cab driver,I immediately ran towards the bus which saw me being glared at,by the band teacher ..

I was sinked by guilt,but lifted with relief at the same time

LOL !

and when we got there,I was feeling giddy ..

I saw many other faces too,only a few didn't have bloodshed eyes

they must have slept real early then.. good for them =.=

sigh~

and so we rehearsed till around 9 ..

and were scheduled to be back by 10 , but got back after 10 in the end ..

so.. that summed up my morning ..

what a GREAT way to start the day eh? ;) .....................................

and as soon as I got back.. had to go back to class for lessons .. =.=

boring much ..

and blah blah + remedial after school

the moment I got home, the bed became my best friend

what an epic day~ ... +.+

oh,almost forget.. there's SS test tomorrow.. screwed,screwed,screwed !!.. __
